People v. James R. Kirchoff. 17PDJ082. December 13, 2017. The Presiding Disciplinary Judge approved the parties’ conditional admission of misconduct in this reciprocal discipline matter and suspended James R. Kirchoff (attorney registration number 35118) for two years, effective December 13, 2017. Kirchoff’s reinstatement in Colorado is conditioned on his reinstatement from his suspension in Oregon.
On August 3, 2017, the Oregon Supreme Court suspended Kirchoff from the practice of law in Oregon for two years, commencing sixty days after the order. Kirchoff’s suspension was premised on making a false statement of fact or law to a tribunal, falsifying evidence, engaging in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation that adversely reflected on his fitness to practice law, and knowingly making a false statement of material fact in connection with a disciplinary matter.
Kirchoff’s misconduct constitutes grounds for reciprocal discipline under C.R.C.P. 251.5 and 251.21, which calls for imposition of the same discipline as that imposed in Oregon.
