People v. Buckingham. 11PDJ049. June 21, 2011. Attorney Regulation. The Presiding Disciplinary Judge approved a Conditional Admission of Misconduct submitted by the parties and suspended Patrick W. Buckingham (Attorney Registration Number 09652) for a period of one year and one day, all but six months and one day stayed upon the successful completion of a three-year period of probation, with conditions, effective July 22, 2011. Buckingham did not diligently or honestly represent his clients when he failed to timely file a notice of appeal and an appeal bond, and when he failed to notify his clients that the appeal had been dismissed. Buckingham also pled guilty to a D.U.I. in violation of C.R.S. ยง 42-4-1301(2)(a). His misconduct constitutes grounds for the imposition of discipline pursuant to C.R.C.P. 251.5 and violated Colo. RPC 1.1, 1.2(a), 1.2(d), 1.3, 1.4(a)(3), 8.4(b), and 8.4(c).
