People v. Judith C. Knight, 25PDJ50. July 22, 2025.
The Presiding Disciplinary Judge approved the parties’ stipulation and imposed reciprocal discipline, suspending Judith C. Knight (attorney registration number 16928) for two years. Knight’s suspension in Colorado took effect July 22, 2025.
This reciprocal discipline case arose out of discipline imposed on Knight in Massachusetts. On June 3, 2024, the Supreme Judicial Court for Suffolk County of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts issued a final judgment and order suspending Knight from the practice of law in that jurisdiction for a period of two years. Knight’s Massachusetts discipline was premised on her misconduct in four matters involving three clients, including her intentional misuse of unearned retainers with and without deprivation, her repeated failures to communicate properly with clients, and her failure to respond to Massachusetts disciplinary authorities’ inquiries.
Through this conduct, Knight engaged in conduct constituting grounds for reciprocal discipline under C.R.C.P. 242.21, which calls for imposition of the same discipline as that imposed in Massachusetts.
The case file is public per C.R.C.P. 242.41(a)(2).
