People v. Walter. 08PDJ010. February 6, 2008. Attorney Regulation. The Presiding Disciplinary Judge approved a Conditional Admission of Misconduct submitted by the parties and suspended Stanley J. Walter (Attorney Registration No. 05985) from the practice of law for a period of six months, all stayed upon the successful completion of a one-year period of probation with conditions, effective February 6, 2008. Respondent violated the rules of professional conduct when he knowingly neglected a client matter by failing to respond to a motion for summary judgment, which led to the dismissal of the primary defendant. Respondent also failed to pay the balance of funds owed to a court-reporting firm and failed to take the required action to ensure the court-reporting firm would receive the funds owed to it. Respondent’s misconduct constituted grounds for the imposition of discipline pursuant to C.R.C.P. 251.5 and violated Colo. RPC 1.3 and Colo. RPC 1.4(a) and (b).
