People v. Anne Roberta Ward. 17PDJ024. June 14, 2017. The Presiding Disciplinary Judge granted a motion for entry of default and imposed reciprocal discipline, publicly censuring Anne Roberta Ward (attorney registration number 31729), effective July 19, 2017.
This reciprocal discipline case arose out of discipline imposed upon Ward in Arizona. The Supreme Court of Arizona determined that Ward failed to keep and preserve complete records of her account funds and other client property. Ward also failed to maintain an accurate checkbook register and individual client ledgers, and she did not perform monthly three-way reconciliations of the client ledgers, the trust account ledger, and the trust account bank statements. Ward then failed to promptly respond to requests for information from the Arizona disciplinary authority. For example, she did not provide her trust account records when requested. For this misconduct, the Supreme Court of Arizona publicly censured Ward and placed her on an eighteen-month period of probation with the conditions that she attend trust account school and pay costs.
Ward’s misconduct constitutes grounds for reciprocal discipline under C.R.C.P. 251.5 and 251.21.
