People v. Shepherd. 12PDJ068. September 20, 2012. Attorney Regulation. The Presiding Disciplinary Judge suspended Willie Earl Shepherd (Attorney Registration Number 22679) from the practice of law for a period of ninety days, all stayed upon the successful completion of a three-year period of probation, subject to conditions, including monitored sobriety, continued attendance at AA or other professional support meetings, and a continued course of prescribed medications, effective October 21, 2012. Shepherd pled guilty to a class two misdemeanor of attempted third-degree assault, an act of domestic violence, in Denver County Court. The charges stemmed from an incident in which he physically assaulted his wife in the presence of their minor child while intoxicated. His misconduct constitutes grounds for the imposition of discipline pursuant to C.R.C.P. 251.5 and violated Colo. RPC 8.4(b).
