People v. Jeffrey S. Ryan. 13PDJ085. November 6, 2013. The Presiding Disciplinary Judge approved the parties’ conditional admission of misconduct and suspended Jeffrey S. Ryan (Attorney Registration Number 22468) for nine months with the requirement that he petition for reinstatement pursuant to C.R.C.P. 251.29(c). The suspension takes effect December 11, 2013.

On June 29, 2012, Ryan, who had been drinking, initiated a verbal confrontation with two people. As a result, Ryan was arrested; at the time, his breath alcohol content registered as 0.111. Many months later, Ryan’s car slid into a culvert after he consumed alcohol. Placed under arrest, Ryan submitted to a breath test, which showed a breath alcohol content of 0.109. Ryan pled guilty to one count of a class-five felony of criminal trespass and one count of driving under the influence. He was sentenced to two concurrent years of probation, with conditions. Ryan therefore violated Colo. RPC 8.4(b) (committing a criminal act reflecting adversely on the lawyer’s honesty, trustworthiness, or fitness as a lawyer).
