People v. Pareja, 04PDJ107. November 29, 2004. Attorney Regulation. The Presiding Disciplinary Judge approved the parties’ Conditional Admission of Misconduct and suspended Respondent Gary P. Pareja (Registration #10277) from the practice of law for a period of thirty (30) days. The suspension is stayed pending successful completion of a one-year period of probation, effective December 30, 2004. Respondent was also ordered to pay costs incurred in conjunction with this proceeding, pursuant to C.R.C.P. 251.32(d). This proceeding arises out of Respondent’s failure to pay his attorney registration fee in accordance with C.R.C.P. 227A. As a result, his license to practice law was administratively suspended. However, Respondent did not receive a copy of the suspension order, because he had not updated his home and business addresses as required by C.R.C.P. 227A(2)(b). While on administrative suspension, Respondent appeared as attorney of record in over fifty (50) cases. Thus, Respondent violated Colo. RPC 3.4(c) (knowing violation of a rule of a tribunal) and 8.4(d) (conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice).
