People v. Terrence Patrick Murray. 16PDJ021. March 7, 2016. The Presiding Disciplinary Judge approved the parties’ conditional admission of misconduct and publicly censured Terrence Patrick Murray (attorney registration number 16127), effective March 7, 2016.

In 2013, Murray and his ex-wife entered into a stipulated no-contact order that limited their communications. Murray violated the order by sending his ex-wife emails containing insults and by telephoning her. In both instances, he was held in contempt of court. Murray’s conduct caused his ex-wife emotional distress and caused the court system injury by necessitating contempt proceedings. His conduct violated Colo. RPC 3.4(c) (a lawyer shall not knowingly disobey an obligation under the rules of a tribunal) and Colo. RPC 8.4(d) (a lawyer shall not engage in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice).
